ECG Utility (Electricity) Pole Fire Protection
Wildfires and or Bushfires are major threats to utility (Wooden Electricity Poles) infrastructure. High replacement costs, downed lines, outages, damaged equipment, high cost of re-installations, and revenue loss are major liabilities. We use our highly effective NoFire Fire-retardant coating system for the Electricity Company of Ghana Limited (ECG) to protect their Electricity Poles (in the bush-fire prone regions of ECG) from wildfires for a fraction of the cost of Pole and network replacements. Our NoFire A18 Fire-Retardant Coating system protects ECG’s electricity poles from fire damage and extinguishes poles ignited by lightning strikes.
Several hundreds of electricity poles in various regions of ECG have been saved from severe bush-fires with no damage to the structural integrity of the wood of the poles.

Product Used: Nofire A18 Fire Retardant Intumescent Coating
At 1100°C and with heat fluxes of around 150kW/m2, most substrates, for example, Wall, Concrete, Wood, Plastic, Composites, Steel, etc. will burn or melt, lose their structural integrity, and or even be consumed rapidly by the fire. A hydrocarbon pool fire will usually generate temperatures of up to 1100°C with heat fluxes of around 150kW/m2 which is hotter than bush or wildfires, and even more intense than what is required to consume a highly dense wood very rapidly. NoFire A18 Fire Retardant coating system can resist and withstand fires at these temperatures and will protect the structural integrity of any substrate. “Remember NoFire Paint does everything an ordinary paint does EXCEPT BURN!
Brief Description of Nofire Paint
NoFire Fireproof and Fire-Retardant Coatings are decorative and Fire protective intumescent coatings designed to retard and stop (the spread of) flames in the event of a fire. NoFire is a zero-flame index coating and has the appearance of traditional-ordinary paint. It complies with building and fire codes and gives coated substrates (and surfaces) the required fire or flame-spread protection.
